A Testbed for Succesful Energy Renovation
Valla Torg in Årsta is a residential area built in the 1960s. The City of Stockholm has carried out extensive energy renovation through an EU-funded project, Grow Smarter.
The buildings were updated with better isolations and a wide range of efficiency measures, including heat recovery applications like exhaust air heat pumps and wastewater heat exchange systems. Separate heat exchangers were installed in every building for direct, efficient connections to the district heating system. The projects demonstrates how 12 smart solutions for buildings, infrastructure and mobility can reduce energy consumption and emissions by more than 60 per cent.
